What are challenge coins?
The question: What are Challenge Coins ?
Can be answered most simply like this. Challenge coins are custom designed limited edition coins that are generally given for participation in operations, as recognition of achievement, and award for qualifying for an elite team or squad.
Military challenge coin history had there beginnings in world war one when a wealthily US military airman had coins made for his fellow aircrew. The coin challenge was started when at the pub these airmen would challenge each other to show they had their coins in possession, if the did not they bought the beer. If all the members had their coins the one who challenged buys the round of cheer.
